La Heliconia Resort & Day Spa, is currently consists of 14 beautiful self- catered apartments. All apartments have access to a full range of managed facilities and services provided by the resort such as:

  • On-site restaurant and bar with a casual atmosphere serving the best of West Indian cuisine with meat and vegetables sourced from our family farm and fresh fish from carefully selected local fishermen. Open for breakfast and lunch. Evening’s meals by arrangement.

  • All apartments have a large en-suite shower room and either a well equipped kitchen / dining area or drinks / snack facilities and internet access.

  • Front desk reception and full concierge services

  • Management and maintenance services

  • Pickup from the airport at $US12.00.

About Grenada
Grenada also known as the ‘Spice Isle’ is one of the most beautiful and lush islands in the West Indies. Unspoilt and exotic, Grenada’s dramatic scenery, tropical rain forests, mountains, waterfalls and golden beaches will appeal to visitors from around the world. Grenada’s proximity to the equator ensures a year round climate in the low 80’s outside the Caribbean belt, with cooling trade winds, offering very comfortable conditions. With a very high literacy rate, the population is highly educated. The American University with 5000+ students from over 40 countries offers faculties of Medicine and Veterinary Science has been established.

The people
Filled with wonderful, friendly people who are anxious to help you to enjoy your stay. The island’s population is 100,000. English is the official language, French patio is spoken widely. The miditterranean-esque capital of Grenada is St.George’s, and the island has a time difference of 5 hours behind GMT, 1 hour ahead of Washington DC during standard time.

By Air
International flights including British Airways, Virgin, Delta, Caribbean Airlines, LIAT, American Airlines, Air Canada, inter island flights and all private jets. Grenada is well served from North America and south Europe. Private charter services are available.

By Sea
St. George’s harbor is a port of call for yachts and many inter island ferrys. The world class Port Louis Yacht Marina accepts yachts up to 120 meters with full customs and immigration. The marina offers 5-star services.

Money
The currency is the Eastern Caribbean (EC) dollar which is linked to the US dollar. Major credit cards are accepted at most hotels, car rental companies and shops. Travellers checks are not accepted throughout the islands.

Economy
Grenada has a stable economy relying mainly on agriculture and Tourism. Agricultural produce includes bananas, cocoa, nutmeg, mace, citrus, avocados,
coffee, sugarcane and many exotic spices.

Getting around
Main roads in Grenada are paved and well-maintained. Visitors can tour the island with private car hire of taxis. Taxis are ideal for guided sightseeing with rates set by the Government. Grenada’s sister islands are located 20 miles to the North and can be reached by express ferry taking one and a half hours, making an ideal day trip.
